About Tammy

Hi, I 'm Tammy!

I am a registered dietitian nutritionist, specializing in disordered eating and sports nutrition. With over 25 years of experience and a mom of two teen boys, I’ve witnessed the devastating effects of harmful nutrition school lessons, social media content, news headlines, and even misinformed physicians can have on my clients.

I was lucky to grow up in a family that shared mealtimes, and didn't focus on weight or the nutrient content in food. I later realized my family had unknowingly given me protective factors against the diet culture that inevitably creeped into my life during high school. Like any tween or teen, I eventually became keenly aware of the judgement of appearance at this age, but was able to avoid the pitfalls because of my positive relationship with food.

As a dietitian, I’ve learned most people were never taught to rely on their intuition and internal cues to regulate their hunger and fullness. It is so rewarding to help clients sift through conflicting nutrition advice and I recognize how difficult it is especially for teens and tweens as they navigate changing bodies, new pressures, and self-esteem issues. I have made it my mission to help my clients get back to their intuition, heal from disordered eating, and promote healthy, positive relationships with food.

My Philosophy

Forget eating plans, rule-based ‘should’s’, and mom-shaming. We believe in individualized care that fits the unique needs of your family. By teaching you how to help your children trust their internal cues to regulate their hunger and weight, your children will be prepared to ignore negative messages from society in order to fit in and will prioritize their own feeling of health and well-being.
